B.J Penn released from UFC

On 26 September Dana White told Yahoo! Sports that he releases UFC Hall of Famer and former two-division UFC Champion B.J Penn.

Recently Dana talked about Penn’s future, that he has to manage his life (because of suits and brawl’s that he got into) and after that, they could talk about B.J’s next fight.

Besides brawl’s and lawsuits, his career inside the octagon also wasn’t going well, he won only one fight out of 11.

Dana White announced Penn’s retirement: “He won’t fight again. That’s it. That’s a wrap,” White told ESPN “It’s not even that this was the last straw. I didn’t love him continuing to fight anyway. But when you have the relationship that he and I have, and he’s getting me on the phone begging me for another fight, begging me for another opportunity, it’s hard for me to turn him down.”

“But after what I saw on that video, B.J. needs to focus on his personal life and get himself together before he thinks about fighting again.”
